Progression map revamp

To coincide with the Candy Crush TV show premiere ( on CBS in North America ), we decided to update the look of the progression map. I led the team in establishing the creative direction, UI, UX, graphics pipeline and best optimisation practises.

  • Solved method of adapting existing 2D graphics to a 3D map without sacrificing style, narrative or asthetics.

  • Spearheaded atlas optimisation to allow for A/B test of old map vs new map while not increasing binary size of app.

  • Updated level pins to 3D.

  • Provided creative direction, technical solutions and support to artists.

  • Worked closely with developers to solve batching, rendering and performance issues.

Live Op: King of the hill

Based on the success of smaller live-ops we were tasked with implementing a larger scale live op. The design used alternate progression based on real world locations. I led the UX, UI, creative direction, illustration, animation and solved technical problems related to art. It was a challenging project that lasted several months and required constant pivots, adjustment to shifting requirements and stakeholder management.
